Spring & Summer 2010
Currently I am busy with writing, but I do try to update my blog as I can. So for the most current news, you should probably check there.
January/February 2010
January is the month where I shall be writing full time. I have a self-imposed deadline of January 31st so I don't intend to surface very much. Thank goodness it's not a month that is conducive to going out - except perhaps for the sales!!! But I shall resist. I'm working on book number 78. My plan is to reach number 80 by the end of the year.
On Wednesday, February 10th I am giving a talk at Kingswinford Library about how I became a writer and what writing for Mills & Boon is like. So if you live in the area and you'd like to come along at 1.30 I'd be pleased to see you.

October/November 2009
September was an exciting month because I received an award for the publication of my 75th book - The Santorini Marriage Bargain.
The night before - staying in a lovely hotel near London's Covent Garden, I had dinner with several other authors. Then on THE day it was the annual lunch of the Mills & Boon Author's Assocation at Tuttons - a very atmospheric restaurant right in the heart of Covent Garden - where I was presented with a beautiful Tiffany Key Chain. It's something I shall always treasure. I felt very honoured.
The following day I had another celebratory lunch with my present and previous editors and Mills & Boon's Editorial Director. So I left London feeling on top of the world - and a few pounds heavier!

August/September 2009
I’ve been excited this month by all the excellent reviews I’ve had for The Santorini Marriage Bargain, which you will know by now is my 75th book.
CataRomance said: The Santorini Marriage Bargain is a compelling, emotional and heartwarming tale featuring a gorgeous Greek hero and a refreshing heroine who is strong and lively. To read the full review click here
WeWriteRomance said: Margaret Mayo has done it once again. A superior author for Harlequin Mills & Boon, Ms. Mayo's writing only gets better with each book she writes. And her latest release, The Santorini Marriage Bargain, sets her apart from the pack of today's series authors. To read the full review click here
The Pink Heart Society said: This story shows a strong hero with a heroine that matches him every step of the way despite her vulnerability. It is beautifully written by a prolific author who is a true inspiration to aspiring authors and a delight to her many readers. To read the full review click here
What a warm, fuzzy feeling these reviews gave me. Now all I need to do is live up to it and write another good book!!! There are already two more ready for publication – but more about those next time.

June/July 2009
The year is flying by and July sees the publication here in the UK of my 75th book – The Santorini Marriage Bargain.
How exciting is that?
It’s a huge milestone and I can’t believe I’ve reached it. And of course it has to be one of my favourite stories - if not my all time favourite - with Rhianne Pickering agreeing to work for gorgeous Greek Zarek Diakos. The story plays out on the beautiful island of Santorini. Just writing about it made me want to go there. Perhaps one day...
Also in July a 2006 book of mine Bought For Marriage is being published in the US in Presents Extra - Forced to Marry - miniseries. Again I have a Greek hero – Theo Tsardikos who demands that Dione Keristari marries him in return for him helping out her sick father.
Just writing this makes me want to create another Greek hero. My current hero is English and lives in London, so perhaps when his story is finally put to bed I might look for another gorgeous Greek to write about.
On the other hand, we’re going to the Canary islands later this year so who knows – I might meet a fantastic Spaniard to inspire me.
So till next time
Happy Reading

March/April News
I can’t believe it’s been twelve months since we celebrated our Golden Wedding Anniversary and went on a wonderful cruise. And now another anniversary has come and gone. It makes me realise how precious life is and how important it is to live it to the full. I have a husband who hates staying in so we’re always out somewhere. We already have two holidays booked for this year, and I’m sure there’ll be more. It’s a case of fitting in my writing around them.
This year sees the publication of my three latest books:
- The Italian’s Ruthless Baby Bargain – February - UK, March - Australia
- The Santorini Marriage Bargain – out in July in the UK
- The Twelve Month Marriage Deal – out in December in the UK
And also, Bought for Marriage, first published here in 2006 is coming out as a Presents in the US in July. And The Billionaire's Blackmail Bargain is on sale in the US during March.
And of course they’re all available on-line.
The Santorini Marriage Bargain is my 75th book and I’ll be organising something special to celebrate so keep watching this space. Zarek Diakos is my gorgeous Greek hero and Rhianne Pickering is my heroine and they meet when she walks out into the road and he almost runs her over. Not the most auspicious of meetings but in true Harlequin Mills & Boon style they become perfect lovers. How they get there is another story.
I’m currently working on a new book which so far doesn’t even have a working title, and I’m staying nearer to home this time, setting it in London. It’s a secret baby story and I’m already having great fun with it.
So — till next time
Happy Reading
January/February News
2009. Another year. I wonder what's in front of us?
2008 was a year in which my husband and I celebrated our Golden Wedding with a party and a cruise. A year in which my new adorable grandson was born. A year in which, on another holiday, our villa was broken into and amongst other things our camera was stolen - with irreplaceable photographs. So it was a year full of mixed blessings.
I'm now looking forward to a year full of growth. New books to write. The publication of two brand new books. Holidays. I always think January is a time full of hope, of making plans, and this year will be no exception. Maybe our holidays won't be something grand like a cruise, but whatever we do we shall enjoy ourselves.
I'm busy writing a book set in Spain at the moment, but when that is finished I shall look forward to meeting new characters in new places - and that is always a pleasure, always a lot of fun, always exciting and sometimes unpredictable.
Don't forget to look out for the Italian's Ruthless Baby Bargain here in the UK in February.
Meanwhile, Happy Reading!
